Northern California Super Lawyers 2015 Selects Gwilliam Law Attorneys

We are delighted to announce that Northern California Super Lawyers 2015 has selected three of our six attorneys for the prestigious and exclusive list of top attorneys known as Super Lawyers. Partners Gary Gwilliam, Steven Brewer, and Steven Cavalli were included in the 2015 edition of Northern California Super Lawyers. The Northern California Super Lawyers 2015 list is limited to roughly 5% of all lawyers in the state of California chosen from more than 70 practice areas and all sizes of firms throughout the state.

In addition, associates Robert Schwartz and Jayme Walker were named Northern California Rising Stars 2015. Like the competitive climate to become a Super Lawyer, the Northern California Rising Stars 2015 list is limited. No more than 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40 or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less qualify for this exclusive peer-driven list.

All attorneys, including those chosen for the Rising Stars list, must first go through the Super Lawyers selection process. Attorneys that are not selected to the Super Lawyers list but meet the Rising Stars eligibility requirements, then go through the process of selection for the Rising Stars list.  We are very happy to recognize our two Northern California Rising Stars 2015.

Jayme Walker: 2015

Robert Schwartz: 2015

Selection Process for Northern California Super Lawyers 2015

What makes the selection to Super Lawyers special? According to Super Lawyers:

“Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.”

Through their patented multiphase selection process, Super Lawyers begin to compile their list. During the process, peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each attorney candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition as well as professional achievement. Super Lawyers annually selects the best and brightest attorneys from each state for inclusion. The Super Lawyers selection process involves three important steps: compilation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and vitally important peer evaluation by practice area. Lawyer ratings are limited to those attorneys who can be hired and retained by people in need of legal counsel.

Consequently, the purpose of Super Lawyers is to create a focused list that is diverse, comprehensive, and highly credible. The list then can be used as a credible resource for attorneys and consumers seeking legal counsel.

Super Lawyers Credibility

Super Lawyers selection process was granted a patent from The United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2013. In effect, the granting of a patent for the Super Lawyers selection process is a powerful differentiating factor between their work and other attorney rating systems. The patent demonstrates Super Lawyers credibility as an impartial third-party rating system.

The Super Lawyers list is published in Super Lawyers Magazine. Published in every state in the United States, Super Lawyers Magazine reaches in excess of 13 million readers. The magazine targets their distribution to fellow attorneys and accredited law school libraries. The list is also compiled into a supplemental special section and included in some of the largest city and regional publications across the nation. Online digital additions are also available on the Internet.
